Microsurgery: Transplantation and Replantation by Harry J. Buncke, MD, et al.
Table of Contents / Chapter 5:
Dorsalis Pedis

This patient had a flexion contracture of the volar surface of the second metatarsal area.

FIG. 5-31. Underlying loss of tendon and neurovascular bundles secondary to a gunshot wound.

FIG. 5-32. The flexion contracture has been corrected, leaving soft tissue tendon and neurovascular defects.

FIG. 5-33. The small dorsalis pedis skin island is outlined.

FIG. 5-34. A long vascular pedicle of the dorsalis pedis artery and venae comitantes, deep peroneal nerve, and extensor tendon are carried with the skin island.

FIG. 5-35. Restoration of cover, tendon, and neurovascular cover has been accomplished. Extension is shown.

FIG. 5-36. Flexion is shown.
